Competitive Events - Regional Level
At the Regional Level, you compete against other high school students from all over Bucks County.
If you are competing in the following events: Advertising, Agribusiness, Business Calculations, Business Law, Business Management, Computer Problem Solving, Cyber Security, Economics, International Business, Intro to Marketing Concepts, Marketing, Organizational Leadership, Political Science, or Securities & Investments:
- You will take a 60-minute, multiple-choice online test.
- Testing takes place from November 28 to December 2 during Lunch & Learn in C201.
- First, second and third place finishers move on to the State level competition.
If you are competing in the following events: Broadcast Journalism, Graphic Design, Publication Design, or Sales Presentation:
- You will prepare, write, or design something according to the specific topic for your event.
- At the Regional Conference (December 14 at Del Val University) - you will present, justify or explain your product to a panel of judges.
- First and second place finishers move on to the State level competition.
Competitive Events - State Level
At the State Level, you compete against other high school students from all over Pennsylvania.
If you are eligible to move on to the State level in these events: Advertising, Agribusiness, Business Calculations, Business Law, Computer Problem Solving, Cyber Security, Economics, Intro to Marketing Concepts, Organizational Leadership, Political Science or Securities & Investments:
- You will take a 60-minute, multiple-choice, online test during the week of April 10-14, during Lunch & Learn in C201.
- Winners are announced on April 18 at the SLC Awards Ceremony.
- Top 3 finishers are eligible to move on to compete at Nationals in June in Atlanta, GA
If you are eligible to move on to the State level in these events: Business Management, International Business or Marketing:
- You will take a 60-minute, multiple-choice, online test during the week of March 20-24, during Lunch & Learn in C201.
- The top 15 finalists will be announced on Monday, March 27.
- If you are in the top 15, you will travel to Hershey on Tuesday, April 18 and give an oral presentation on a case study.
- You will be sequestered - which means that you will be isolated in a room and not given your topic until an hour before your presentation.
- Top 3 finishers are eligible to move on to compete at Nationals in June in Atlanta, GA
If you are eligible to move on to the State level in these events: Broadcast Journalism, Graphic Design, Publication Design or Sales Presentation:
- You will present to a panel of judges at the SLC in Hershey - this is the same presentation you prepared for Regionals
- Preliminary round - April 17
- Top 15 will advance to the Final round - April 18
- Top 3 finishers are eliglble to move on to compete at Nationals in June in Atlanta, GA
If you are competing in the following events: E-Business, Public Service Announcement or Website Design
- These are state-only events - there is no Regional level competition
- Your product is due to Mrs. Fosbenner by December 12.
- Mrs. Fosbenner will submit your entry to the State.
- The top 15 finalists will be announced by January 31 - and are eligible to present at the SLC on Monday April 17.
