Central Bucks School District

  • Message to the Community from Superintendent Yanni

    Dear CBSD Community,

I am writing to you about an upcoming change in our district’s leadership team. Some time ago, our Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education, Dr. Nadine Garvin, announced her retirement. Following decades of service to CBSD in various roles, Dr. Garvin will retire at the end of May. We wish her all the best in her retirement.

Since Dr. Garvin’s announcement, we have engaged in a search and interview process to identify our next Assistant Superintendent for Elementary. The process has concluded, and it is my pleasure to announce that Dr. Helen Sclama Zaleski is the finalist candidate for the position. The Board will consider her appointment to the Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education position, effective July 1, 2025, at their meeting next Thursday, April 24, 2025.

Dr. Zaleski currently serves as the Principal of Titus Elementary School. During her time in CBSD, Dr. Zaleski has also served our students as a Spanish teacher and as a House Principal at CB West. In her new role, Dr. Zaleski will provide leadership and guidance to all 15 of our elementary schools, ensuring that we provide the best possible education for all of our students. We congratulate Dr. Zaleski on being named the finalist candidate, and I look forward to sharing more about her in the coming weeks.

Following Dr. Zaleski’s appointment to the Assistant Superintendent for Elementary position, we will begin the process to identify the next Principal for Titus. The community should rest assured that Dr. Zaleski will finish the school year at Titus; additionally, she will be instrumental in transitioning a new leader for the school community.

I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to thank Dr. Nadine Garvin for her dedicated years of service to the students, staff, and CBSD community. Her impact will be felt for years to come, and we know she will watch from afar as we continue moving CBSD forward in the best interest of our students, staff, and community.

In closing, please know how much I appreciate the support of our wonderful community for our entire team of CBSD employees who work on behalf of our children each day. Your support is integral to the success of our work and the future of our children.

    Sincerely,

    Steven M. Yanni, Ed.D.
    Superintendent of Schools
