College Planning
School Counselors at West host grade level presentations for students throughout the year to help plan for the next steps after High School. The main presentations will be posted here for easy access; however, students are encouraged to reach out to their counselor anytime they would like to discuss options after graduation!
10th Grade Year
- One of the most helpful ways to prepare for college during 10th grade is to successfully adjust to high school expectations. Students should learn how to take notes, access class resources, and keep in communication with teachers so they are prepared for higher level courses or an increase in overall rigor during 11th grade.
- Beyond that, students should take some time to explore what occupations are available that align their skills and interests. The Occupational Outlook Handbook is an excellent resource to use!

12th Grade Year
Seniors should reference the College Application Process page, which outlines specific steps to take during the 1st MP of senior year.
