FOR the class of 2024 -- RISING SOPHOMORES

  • Over the next several weeks all students in the Central Bucks School District will be entering their course requests for next year (2021-2022) through the Infinite Campus Student Portal. Prior to entering course requests in Student Portal, we encourage students and their families to explore the robust curriculum that each of our departments has to offer.  In place of our annual Curriculum Fair, we have created this Virtual Curriculum Information Page.

All rising Sophomores must follow these instructions:

Between Thursday, Jan 7 and Sunday, Jan 10, 2021: watch the following videos (links in icons below), in order:

STEP 1:  Guidance Department Overview, presented by your counselors, Ms. Dallam (A-K) and Mr. Curtis (L-Z).  They walk students through the program planning process, including how to enter courses into the Portal, scheduling considerations, and timelines.

    Step 1

STEP 2:  Welcome from Mr. Donovan, Principal of CB West (link below)

STEP 3:  Welcome from Mr. Rubenstein, House Principal for the Class of 2024 (link below)

After watching these videos, students should then click on the department icons (links below) to learn helpful information about required and elective course offerings. Department representatives will describe the courses available to rising sophomores, elective offerings within their department, sequencing information, differences in expectations/rigor for various levels, and provide answers to the most frequently asked questions in their department.  If students have specific questions about course recommendations, they should reach out to their Middle School Counselor or current 9th grade teachers.

On Thursday, January 7, 2021, you will receive an email with the following information:

    • A link to a SURVEY, soliciting any remaining questions you may have after viewing the departmental videos.
      • This survey will close on Monday, January 11 at 8am.
    • A link to join the Live Teams Meetings held by the high school counselors on 1/13/21 at 8am and 1pm.

    On Wednesday, January 13:

High school counselors will host two Live Teams meetings (links below).  During these sessions, they will provide another overview of the program planning process, and respond to the FAQ’s that parents submitted in the survey.  Parents may pose additional general questions in the chat feature in Teams during these meetings.

    January through March:

Counselors will review all students’ course selections to ensure compliance with graduation requirements and teacher recommendations, where relevant.

    April 2, 2021:

No changes to course requests can be made after this date, unless it involves a level change recommended by a teacher, or a prerequisite issue (see Program of Studies, page 3).
