After consulting with the Umbrell family it was decided that Colby's uniform would be placed in a shadow box and a cast bronze eternal flame on a piece of cherry wood would make a fitting memorial. Steven spearheaded the fund raising, contacting other East graduates and community members.A dedication ceremony was held on May 2, 2008. America the Beautiful was sung by Christine Remiker, Umbrell Family Friend and Teacher. Matt Fisher, Army Ranger, recited the Ranger's Creed. Comments were given by Abe Lucabaugh, Principal C.B.
