2022-23 AP Exam Information - September 2022

AP testing takes place the first two weeks of May 2023 during the school day at CB South. Exams will be offered in a paper/pencil format.  Students enrolled in an AP class at any point during the year will receive a “join code” from their assigned teacher.  They will place that "join code" in their CollegeBoard account. AP teachers will assist students by logging into their College Board AP class sections and joining the teacher’s class.

Once students have completed digital activation (joining) their AP classes, they must pay for the exams in their My Payments Plus account or an exam will not be ordered for them.  Specific dates for payment will be advertised in the near future, and payment times will vary based upon when the student started the AP class (1st marking period, 2nd marking period, or 3rd marking period).

The payment window in mypaymentplus for students starting an AP class 1st marking period will be from Wednesday, September 7, through Sunday, October 30th 11:59pm.  The cost of the exams will be $102.

For more information about AP tests, visit the What Is AP? – AP Students | College Board website.  Any questions regarding AP registration and ordering can be directed to CB South's AP Coordinator, Mr. Tom Hill - thill@cbsd.org

The PSAT/NMSQT is a standardized test given by the College Board as a practice test for the SAT. It is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation junior year.

The PSAT/NMSQT took place on Saturday October 15, 2022 at CB South.  Registration is done through My Payments Plus September 9 through October 3.

Score Reports will appear on the College Board Website. Students must access their reports by using the same email address they provided on their demographic info the morning of the test.

While the PSAT/NMSQT is a tool used to prepare for the SAT, there are a number of resources we recommend Sophomores and Juniors utilize for test prep:

*College Board website- Taking a full-length SAT practice test is one of the best ways to simulate test day. Eight official SAT practice tests are available for free, both online and on paper. Created by the makers of the SAT, each practice test has the same types of questions you'll see on test day. Six of the practice tests have even previously been given as actual SAT exams.

*Take free SAT practice tests online with Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy®. Your answers will automatically be scored at the end of your test, and the timer will keep you on track with section time limits.

*The Central Bucks School District offers E-Prep, a free standardized test prep and practice program for the PSAT, SAT and ACT to all its students. Students are automatically registered for this program; registration information is as follows: username is the student email address, and password is South2022.  If students cannot find the email or have problems logging in, please contact the school library (Mr. Pecic and/or Mrs. Weiss).

The Pre-ACT will be offered to our 10th grade students later this spring AT CB WEST. This test, similar to the PSAT, gives students the opportunity to take a test comparable to the ACT as a practice test. To those who are not familiar with the ACT, it is used by every college as part of the admissions process the same way as the SAT. All colleges accept the ACT in place of or in addition to the SAT. We recommend that students plan on taking the SAT and/or the ACT for the first time during the spring of Junior Year. For students selecting the Pre-ACT, this will give them ample time to complete any test prep they might need.  The test will cover reading, English, math and science.

Registration window will open in the spring through My Payments Plus.

On test day, students should plan to arrive no later than 7:40 AM and we expect the test to be completed no later than 11:30 AM. Registration is done simply by paying the cost in My Payments Plus- there is no additional registration form.

Students are expected to bring their own #2 pencils, calculator, and masks will be required along with social distancing.

If you have any questions, please contact Sophomore House Counselors Mrs. Barrett (A-L) or Mrs. Ladley-students (M-Z).
