Age Requirements

  • Kindergarten

    Students who are five on/before Aug. 31 automatically qualify

    • Effective beginning the 2025-26 school year, children who turn five from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31 may qualify for enrollment in kindergarten should they meet certain requirements.
    • Families of children who turn five in this window and wish their children to be screened for possible enrollment in kindergarten in 2025-26 should complete the online registration application (see district website) and submit a formal written request for early kindergarten admission consideration into the application.  Upload the written request into the transcripts portion of the application.   
    • We will begin reaching out to families to schedule assessments in April. Assessments will be completed no later than June 15 and will be administered by district staff.
    • Contact the district via phone at 267-893-2111 if you would like more information. When calling, please indicate that your question is about early admission into kindergarten.

    First grade

    • To enter first grade, a student must be six on/before Aug. 31 or have completed a kindergarten program approved by the Dept. of Education.

How to Register

  • Steps for online registration are outlined below. If you do not have access to a computer, we have computers available at 16 Welden Drive.

    Required Information/Documentation

    • Proof of Child’s Age (choose 1 of the following)  
      • Birth Certificate
      • Passport
      • Baptismal Certificate
    • Proof of Residency-Documentation must be current within the past 30 days, in the applicant's name and be removed from envelopes.
    • Proof of Ownership or Proof of Lease (choose 1 of the following)
      • Deed/Lease (MUST be signed and in its entirety)
      • Real Estate Tax Bill
      • Mortgage Statement
      • Verification of Settlement (HUD)
    • Two additional Bills
      • Utility Bill ( e.g., PECO, water, Cable ) or recent billing statement ( e.g., W2, pay stub ) 

    Additional Documents:

    • Immunization Records: Reviewed by the school nurse
    • Health/Medication Forms - due to the health office by October 15
    • Parent/Guardian ID: Driver's License, State ID or Passport
    • Legal Custody Order: if applicable
    • Emergency Contacts: Two (2) non-parent contacts required

One Last Check!


  • Please check the dates on all of your documents to make sure they are dated within the last 30 days and that everything is out of the envelope so that all of the required information is visible.
