Poetry & Poetry Resources1. Browsing poetry on the shelves, including works by individual poets & anthologies:a.) All poetry in CB West's library is in the 800's section, ending in -1. For example:811 - American poetry
821 - British poetry
831 - German poetry
841 - French poetry
851 - Italian poetry
861 - Spanish & Portuguese poetry
871 - Latin poetry
881 - Greek poetry
891 - Poetry of other nationalities (Russian, Asian, Indian, etc.)Poetry anthologies (collected works) are found in 808.81, 810.8, 810.9, 820.8, 820.9.b.) Poetry may also be found in books with call numbers ending in -8, i.e.: 818, 828, etc. These represent collections of poetry, prose, and plays.c.) To search the online catalog for individual poets, or poetry in general, use DESTINY. To find a poet's work in an anthology, search the poet's name in Destiny as a Keyword search.
2. Searching for poetry info, essays, and/or criticism on the shelves:a.) Poetry analysis & essays can be found in both the nonfiction & reference sections of the library.
~Nonfiction - call numbers end in .52, i.e.: 811.52 FRO = analysis of Robert Frost poems. 920/921=biographies.
~Reference - all collections of poetry criticism are in REF 809.1.b.) Gale Literary Index - helps you locate poet & poem in Reference books, right to the exact page.
