In this course, students will participate in hands
on activities as they explore the equipment and materials used in Industry,
while being able to create their own furniture with results that may surprise
them. Students will utilize the same software employed in the aerospace industry to
program a variety of machines. We will explore graphic design and layout as
they design and produce parts for their own mantel clock, and other smaller
projects. In addition to computer controlled machinery, Material Processing also
provides students with the opportunity to interact with traditional machines. After
completion of this course students should go into Material Processing 2.
There is a lab fee for this class. Generally it ranges from $15-$25 depending project(s) for the class. Example Student Work:
