CB East Temporarily Evacuated
On the morning of September 10 2019 at approximately 10:05 a.m., individuals within the building reported an odor of gas within the C-wing at Central Bucks East High School. Emergency response procedures were immediately initiated. Students and staff were evacuated from the building and local emergency response officials were contacted.
Local fire and police responded within minutes, and following an investigation, determined that the source of the odor was a science classroom. Those lines have been closed, and CBSD Facilities and Energy Management Operations personnel are on site to investigate necessary repairs.
The fire marshal has determined that the building is safe to reoccupy, and authorized that students and staff return to the building. CB East has resumed normal operations, and we thank our students, faculty, and staff for their calm, organized evacuation.
We appreciate the patience and support of our families as we focused on the safety of our students before issuing this information to the community.
