Dear Jamison Families,
On behalf of our Home and School Association (HSA), I’d like to extend a warm WELCOME to our new families and a WELCOME BACK to those of you who are returning. I hope that your summer was filled with fun and relaxation and that you made a lot of wonderful memories with family and friends. It’s hard to believe school is starting, but, here we are, ready for a great year!
Jamison Elementary is not just a building; it is a warm, welcoming and friendly community full of staff who are committed to the growth and education of our children, parents who give of their time to support the staff and students, and students who love coming to school ready to learn. Over the years, this community becomes a second home, a place where students want to be each day and a place they want to come back to visit when they move on to other schools.
Our HSA is an active volunteer-based organization that supports Jamison in many ways. We fund many programs and activities that enhance the learning experience. The HSA fully funds assemblies and speakers, subsidizes field trips for every grade level, assists in the purchasing of equipment for the Jamison Today Show studio and for the outdoors, including our beautiful gazebo, and much more. We also plan various events throughout the year so that we can come together as a community to enjoy some social time with our families and friends.
We will, once again, run our 100% JET fundraising campaign - this is our ONE AND ONLY fundraiser. We ask families to donate directly to the HSA to help us raise funds to support our annual budget. Fundraising, in this way, allows the HSA to keep the entire donation and put it right back into the school to benefit the children. For more information, click the link above or look for information at the Back to School Nights or in an upcoming Wednesday folder.
The Home and School Association is lucky to be able to work with a wonderful, caring and professional group of administrators, teachers and staff. In addition, we have a group of parents, Board Members and Committee Chairs who work hard to coordinate events and activities. Parent involvement is a huge part of the HSA’s success and there are many opportunities to volunteer, either for a one-time event or on an ongoing basis. I encourage you to get involved and play a role in the educational and social experiences of our children. Please take a moment to fill out our volunteer survey.
I am looking forward to working with our principal, Mr. Croyle, the teachers and staff, and the dedicated volunteers to make this a memorable and positive year for our children. Once again, welcome to Jamison and best wishes for a successful school year!
