In unit 9, students extend their experience with algebra at the same time dealing with important geometry and measurement ideas using the language and notation of algebra. Concepts in this unit include using evaluating and applying formulas for circumference, perimeter, area, volume, and the Pythagorean theorem. Students will explore distributive property, use the order of operations and distributive strategies to simplify algebraic expressions, evaluate formulas, and solve equations. Lastly, students will find the missing lengths in similar figures using a size- change factor. For a complete list of learning goals, please click here.
