WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME FROM SCHOOL
A PROBLEM PARENTS COMMONLY FACE IS WHEN TO KEEP A CHILD HOME FROM SCHOOL IF HE/SHE COMPLAINS OF NOT FEELING WELL. USE THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES UNTIL YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER CAN BE CONTACTED.
CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT AT HOME IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS ARE
PRESENT:
FEVER OF 100 DEGREES OR HIGHER. STUDENTS MAY NOT
RETURN TO SCHOOL UNTIL FEVER FREE WITHOUT
MEDICATION FOR 24 HOURS.
VOMITING WITHIN THE PAST 24 HOURS. STUDENT MAY NOT
RETURN TILL VOMIT FREE FOR 24 HOURS
DIARRHEA WITHIN THE PAST 24 HOURS
A COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
ACTIVE HEAD LICE. MAY RETURN ONCE TREATED WITH A
PEDICULOCIDE SHAMPOO AND COMBED FOR NET REMOVAL.
A PARENT/GUARDIAN IS REQUIRED TO ACCOMPANY THE
STUDENT TO THE HEALTH OFFICE WITH THE PEDICULOCIDE
BOX. STUDENT WILL ALSO BE RECHECKED IN THE HEALTH
OFFICE BEFORE STHE STUDENT IS READMITTED TO CLASS.
RASH WITH A FEVER.
