WHAT IS THE BOOMERANG AWARD?
The Boomerang Youth Recognition Award was created to celebrate those students who model one of the 40 Developmental Assets. The CB Cares Educational Foundation promotes these values. This group is made of representatives from our community, local businesses and agencies. Please take time to read about their mission at: www.cb-cares.org.
HOW ARE STUDENTS NOMINATED?
Students may nominated by parents, teachers, or community members. If you would like to nominate a child for the Boomerang Youth Recognition Award, please fill out the given form found by clicking here. Then send an email to our school counselor's office at firstname.lastname@example.org with the attached nomination form. Be sure to note dates when nominations are due as many nominations for the month are due around the 20th.
WHEN IS IT CELEBRATED?
Each month one asset is highlighted within our school community. Typically, children who model this asset may be nominated for recogition during a Linden Spirit Assembly. This year, we will find a new and creative way to celebrate our children. Your child's teacher will notify you if your child is being honored.

Asset #10: Safety
Young person feels safe at home, school and in the neighborhood.
Asset #21: Achievement Motivation
Young person is motivated to do well in school
Asset #15: Positive Peer Influence
Young person's best friends model responsible behavior.
Asset #33: Interpersonal Competence
Young person has empathy, sensitivity, and empathy skills.
Asset #26: Caring
Young person values service to others, in their family, school, or community.
Asset #30: Resonsibility
Young person accepts and takes personal resonsibility.
Asset #25: Reading for Pleasure
Young person reads for pleasure most days of the week, either alone, with family members or with friends.
Asset #40: Positive View of Personal Future
Young person is optimistic about their personal future.
