High School Art Curriculum

Students planning to major in art are encouraged to incorporate a variety of courses into their curriculum planning.

High School Art Electives

The Central Bucks Art Program sparks creativity and inspires every student! Designed for personal growth and to prepare future artists, this dynamic program offers a high-quality, K-12 sequential curriculum that blends art with other disciplines. High school art courses feature four exciting areas: Art Production, Art History, Art Criticism, and Aesthetics, all rooted in the PA Standards for the Arts and Humanities.

Our offerings include:

  • Art 1-4 and AP Studio Art
  • Introduction to Ceramics, Ceramics 1, Ceramics 2, and Ceramics 3
  • Digital Imaging 1 and 2, Graphic Design & Illustration and 3D Modeling & Animation
  • Drawing & Painting 1-2
  • The Art of Photography, Beginning Photography, Intermediate Photography and Advanced Photography
  • Unified/Collaborative Art

From foundational skills to advanced exploration, students progress through courses that foster artistic growth, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Through hands-on projects, discussions, and performance-based assessments, students connect art to life and explore its role in their communities. Whether pursuing art as a career or a passion, this program makes art accessible and meaningful for all!
