Teaching Current Events, a Statement Regarding our Norms
Social Studies teachers know that helping our students make sense of current events is an important and challenging part of our work. We use our expertise in History and the Social Sciences to establish context for events in the news and set suitable boundaries for conversations about those events. An understanding of what is age-appropriate for our students guides the way we teach current events, and we strive to do so in an objective and non-partisan manner.
