CBSD History Corps Program Students Accompany WWII Veteran to Washington
The Central Bucks History Corps Program was invited to accompany, film, interview, and archive the journey of WWII and Pennsylvania Veteran, Lt. H. Vickers, USN Ret, to Washington D.C. Lt. Vickers was honored for his service, participated in a Veterans Day wreath laying ceremony, and plaque dedication. Lt. Vickers also turned 104 years old on Veterans Day.
One student remarked, “Being able to hear first account perspectives in person was breathtaking. It wasn't on the TV or hearing about it from a textbook, the stories were being told right in front of me.” The objective of the History Corps is to interview and archive the accounts of our nation’s veterans and preserve their stories.
