By Tuesday, 3/24 at 9 p.m., I need you to listen to “Think Like a Winner”, a cool podcast episode from Freakonomics. If you played varsity last year, we listened to part of it in the team room one day. It has JJ Redick, Robby Gould, Brandon McCarthy, Kerri Walsh Jennings, and other athletes and coaches talking about how they visualize. You’ll also stumble across a pretty familiar football play in there, as well. It’s a great episode.
After you’ve listened, I need you to answer the following:
Which athlete/coach/professor in the podcast resonated the most with you? Why?
How do you practice visualization? What do you do mentally to prep for a game, an at-bat, a certain pitcher, a certain hitter? Click "reply" below and give us an answer. This can help us understand you more as a player, but it might also help your teammates. If I find out that a teammate is doing something that's really unique, and that teammate is pretty successful, then maybe that's something I can consider.
