Changes for 2019-2020
CBSD Athletics Update
Attention all middle school athletes! CBSD Athletics has some important updates and changes that will occur this summer as we prepare for the 2019-2020 school year.
Ninth Grade Sports
All ninth grade sports will now be housed at the high schools. All interested ninth graders who want to play field hockey, football, or soccer this fall should attend the high schools’ tryouts starting on August 12, 2019. All roster spots for the varsity, JV and ninth grade teams will be determined at the tryout. The ninth grade team will be run like the JV and varsity programs.
If you are interested in trying out for a ninth grade program, please register on Family ID with your respective high school and upload the PIAA CIPPE Form to the Family ID database.
If you have any questions, please contact the high school athletic directors.
Middle School Volleyball
CBSD is pleased to announce that we will be starting a co-ed middle school volleyball program this fall run through our CBSD Community School. The purpose of this program is to teach the fundamentals of volleyball to our middle school athletes in the hopes that they will be interested in trying out for our high school program. If there is enough interest, our goal would be to make this a “sport” at the middle school level in a few years’ time.
This program will be open to boys and girls in seventh and eighth grade at each middle school. Practices will begin on September 16, 2019. Practices will be Monday-Thursday from 3 p.m. -4:30 p.m. This will be a six-week program.
If interested in signing up for the volleyball program, click here. Registration opens on August 1, 2019 and spots are limited so please sign up early.
