The Central Bucks Board of School Directors tonight (October 24) approved exercising the district's option to renew the lease for War Memorial Field with Doylestown Borough to 2033.
The renewal does not change the terms of the lease, which include:
Central Bucks School District (CBSD) is responsible for maintaining the facilities and making any capital improvements;
CBSD will provide liability insurance;
There is no fee payment by CBSD.
The lease between the borough, which owns War Memorial Field, and the district became effective in February 1988. It replaced a May 1969 agreement between CBSD and Doylestown Borough. The vote on the lease extension, which will expire June 30, 2033, came during a regular business meeting of the board.
“We appreciate the excellent working relationship and spirit of cooperation between the Central Bucks School District and Doylestown Borough,” said John J. Kopicki, Superintendent of Schools. “War Memorial Field has been an integral part of CB West for decades, which is reflected by the district’s continuing investment in the facility.”
