CB 2017 NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) is an independent, not-for-profit organization offering college scholarship assistance. To be considered for the program, high school juniors must take the Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQ). This standardized test serves as a practice opportunity for the SAT, the most widely-used test for college admission. Nationwide, there are 1.5 million PSAT/NMSQ entrants. In the Central Bucks School District, approximately 75% of high school juniors take the test.

The NMSC chooses 50,000 of the highest-scoring participants across the country for program recognition. On average, 3% of all CB high school students will get into the NMS program in a given year. Congratulations to those Central Bucks high school students who were invited into the program, those who were also commended, and to those who scored high enough to achieve Semifinalist status.

Roughly half of all Semifinalists will go on to become Finalists. Finalists receive National Merit Scholarships, corporate-sponsored scholarships, and college-sponsored scholarships. Central Bucks School District is proud to announce its 2017 National Merit Scholarship Finalists:
