CBSD Girls Wrestling

The Central Bucks Girls Wrestling Team made an impressive debut in the first year of PIAA-sanctioned girls wrestling, combining the talent of wrestlers from Central Bucks East, West, and South High Schools. Among the standout achievements, Junior Macayla Needham from CB East was named to the Philly Burbs/Courier Times All Bucks County 1st Team at 112 lbs and became the first girls' state qualifier in the Central Bucks School District’s history.

The combined team, consisting of four athletes each from CB West and CB East, showcased their prowess in various competitions throughout the season. The team members are as follows:

  • Senior Maggie Austin (East)
  • Junior Macayla Needham (East)
  • Junior Isabella Priano (West)
  • Junior Simone Grondahl Zerby (West)
  • Sophomore Ella Thiebeau (East)
  • Sophomore Emily Kelly (East)
  • Sophomore Hailey Worthington (West)
  • Sophomore Kylie Savin (West)

At the SOL Girls League Championship, which featured 17 participating schools, Central Bucks achieved an impressive 5th place overall. The individual accomplishments include:

  • 1st Place: Isabella Priano
  • 2nd Place: Macayla Needham
  • 3rd Place: Maggie Austin
  • 3rd Place: Simone Grondahl Zerby

Macayla Needham's historic qualification for the girls' state wrestling tournament marks a significant milestone for the Central Bucks School District, reflecting the dedication and skill of both the athletes and coaching staff.
