Message from Principal Davis

Dear Central Bucks West families,

As reported in the media, Joseph Ohrt, a former member of the Central Bucks West faculty was arrested and charged with multiple crimes. Dr. Ohrt has been on a leave of absence from his position since October 26, 2021. His retirement, effective June 10, 2022, was accepted by the Central Bucks School District’s Board of School Directors on December 6, 2021.

Our focus as a school community is on meeting the needs of students and families who have been directly or indirectly impacted by these crimes. This morning, I met with both faculty and students to assure them that they are safe and cared for, while encouraging them to seek additional help if they need it. A crisis response team including Central Bucks school counselors, social workers, and representatives of Kids Peace will be present throughout the school day today and for as long as necessary to support students and employees.

As this information becomes more widely known, your children may express concerns or distress at home. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 267-893-2500 so that we may connect you with someone who can help. You may also consider the resources found on our website here.

If you have any information material to the criminal investigation, we encourage you to reach out to the Bucks County Detectives at 215-348-6354.

As a school and a district, we will concentrate on providing for the needs of our students, staff, and families throughout this challenging time. We thank you for your support.

Warm Regards,

Lyndell K. Davis
Interim Principal, CB West
