March 27 Town Hall on Doyle, Kutz and Linden

Town Hall Meeting Graphic

All Central Bucks School District community members are invited to the third town hall meeting where members of district administration will share information and gather feedback regarding the future of Doyle, Kutz, and Linden Elementary schools.

The next town hall meeting will be held on Thursday, March 27 at CB South High School (1100 Folly Road, Warrington). No pre-registration is required.

The first meetings were held Jan. 30 and Feb. 27 at CB West and and CB East, respectively. During each session, CBSD Superintendent Steven M. Yanni, Ed.D. and other members of district leadership offered a presentation that shared updated information on the options to address the capital needs at Doyle, Kutz, and Linden and related costs and considerations. Pre-submitted questions were answered and questions from the audience were received and addressed. Most of the questions, and others, have been added to a FAQ webpage. The videos of both town halls are also available on the project webpage.

Two Options Remain Following Feb. 13 Finance and Operations Committee Meeting; "Gutting" of Doyle and Linden to be Explored

For several months, the district has been engaged in conversations to “Update the 8” -- CBSD's eight elementary schools in need of significant improvements. In December 2024, the CBSD School Board authorized district administration to move forward with plans to renovate five elementary schools: Barclay, Buckingham, Gayman, Titus and Warwick. This left renovation plans open for Doyle, Kutz, and Linden.

At the Feb. 13 Finance and Operations Committee Meeting, the district and committee confirmed that the option of combining Doyle, Kutz, and Linden into a single school is no longer on the table. The decision is now between renovating Doyle, Kutz, and Linden or combining Doyle and Linden into a new school on Doyle’s current site and renovating Kutz. An option has also been introduced that will explore the “gutting” of Doyle and Linden to complete full internal renovations. This research will begin with a request for proposals (RFP) process. Under this exploratory option, Kutz would be renovated and the 1930s section of the building replaced.

Due to this development, the original timeline of seeking the board’s decision on the future of Doyle, Kutz, and Linden by May 2025 will not be possible considering the additional information that needs to be gathered. Expectations are now to have information in late summer/early fall. As stated during the town hall, making substantial decisions over the summer could limit public comment and input; therefore, substantive decisions are likely once the new school year begins.
