Reading-We have started our new novel, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. We are focusing our work on inferring and vocabulary. Both skills are very prevalent within this text.
Writing-We are going to begin a Functional Writing mini-unit. This unit will focus on direction writing, recipes, etc. Our grammar skill will be compound and complex sentences.
Social Studies-We will continue with the Northeast Region of the United States. Last week we focused on the Revolutionary War. This week we’ll be taking a closer look at the geography of the region.
Social Skills-Last week one of our District Staff Developers came to film our Class Meeting. We read and discusses Wilma Jean, The Worry Machine. We looked at our worries and determined what we had control over and what we did not. We will follow up this skill during the week.
