Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment in CBSD
Central Bucks School District is excited to offer students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit through the district's Dual Enrollment program. These courses, taught within CB East, CB South and CB West high schools, allow students to work toward their high school diploma while simultaneously earning college credits.
Dual Enrollment Courses
- For the 2026-27 school year, Delaware Valley University (DelVal) has approved four CBSD courses to be taught as dual enrollment classes without requiring any changes to these courses' existing curriculum. These courses to be offered at all three high schools are: Statistics and Data Analysis, Calculus 1, Environmental Sustainability, and Sociology. You can learn more in the 2026-27 Program of Studies (page 6).
- Bucks County Community College (BCCC) has approved the Principles of Education course at all CB high schools.
- These classes will include a mix of students taking them for dual enrollment purposes and those enrolled solely for high school credit.
Earning College Credits
Students opting to earn DelVal college credit will pay a fee of $100 per credit, billed directly by the university. Students opting to earn BCCC credit will pay a fee of $130 per credit. Families will receive their invoices by the end of the second week of each high school semester. At the conclusion of the course, teachers will submit final grades for dual enrollment students, after which the district will send these grades to DelVal or BCCC. The university will then record the grades on the students' official college transcripts. CBSD is proud to be able to provide an excellent opportunity for students to advance their education and prepare for future academic and career pursuits, all while staying within the familiar environment of their high school.
Dual Enrollment Course Enrollment Process and Application
Students interested in Dual Enrollment courses through DelVal will be able to begin requesting them during the program planning process. These courses will follow their regular course numbers and be scheduled throughout the school year based on the master schedules. To participate, students will request their desired course during program planning and submit a completed application to Lori Bagnick, CBSD's college and career specialist, at lbagnick@cbsd.org. The application process for 2026-27 is open through March 31, 2026.
Billing and Payment
Payment to DelVal or BCCC is not required until the second week of the semester in which the course is taken. Families will receive their invoices from the college by the end of the second week of the semester, and payment must be completed within 30 days. Failure to pay will result in the student being automatically dropped from the dual enrollment course by the university. This structured process ensures a seamless integration of Dual Enrollment opportunities into students' academic plans.
