Celebrating Student Academic Growth Across CB

Dear CBSD Community,
On behalf of the district, I’m proud to share great news about our students’ academic growth based on the most recent Pennsylvania Value-Added Assessment System (PVAAS) results.
PVAAS measures student growth over time, not just achievement, to help schools understand how much progress students are making each year compared to their past performance. The goal is for every student to achieve at least one year’s worth of growth annually.
Across Central Bucks, students exceeded the goal of one year’s academic growth in every tested subject area and grade level.

Academic Growth in Math and English Language Arts (Grades 4–8): Students across all grade levels who took the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) scored “Above” or “Well Above” growth indicators to exceed the state’s growth standard.

Academic Growth According to Keystone Exams (Algebra I, Biology, and Literature): District-wide results were also “Well Above” the growth standard, indicating outstanding academic progress among our high school students.

These results are a powerful reflection of the passion and expertise of our teachers; the planning and strategic thinking of our administrators and school board; the care and dedication of our support staff across all departments; the focus and hard work of our incredible students; and the strong partnerships with our families to prioritize student learning and well-being. Together, as a community invested in excellence, we are ensuring that every student not only achieves but continues to grow.
More information about the PVAAS results alongside other academic performance indicators will be shared at the Education Committee meeting on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the district’s Education Services Center (16 Welden Dr., Doylestown). The meeting is open to the public, and all are invited to attend to learn more about our students’ exceptional academic growth.
