Vision 2030

At the March 2026 school board business meeting, the board approved the district’s 2026–2029 Comprehensive Plan, Vision 2030. The plan reflects months of stakeholder engagement and was available for public review since late February 2026. It outlines district priorities in academic excellence; technology and innovation; health and wellness; and community engagement. 

The district's proposed comprehensive plan and related materials were posted for a 28-day public review on Feb. 25, 2026, as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Dear CBSD Community,  

Last Thursday at CB South, the stakeholder group that is helping create Vision 2030, our next comprehensive plan, met for the last time to review proposed goals and action steps that will guide the district from 2026-27 through 2028-29.  

At the meeting, administrators, teachers, parents, students, and community members considered what success would look like for proposed goals and action steps within each priority area: Academic Excellence, Health and Wellness, Technology and Innovation, and Community Engagement. Draft goals under discussion included expanding flexible graduation pathways and academic supports; strengthening physical and mental wellness resources; deepening community and alumni partnerships; and supporting responsible technology use, including of artificial intelligence. During a group activity, attendees also discussed what outcomes matter most, and how the district should communicate progress over time.  

We will now incorporate the feedback into a full draft of the plan, which will be posted for public review on the comprehensive plan webpage by the end of February. We plan for the board to review and consider approval of Vision 2030 at the March 26 business meeting. It will then be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education at the end of March. 

We appreciate everyone who has attended our meetings and helped us reach this point. We will keep the community updated on our progress.

Dedicated work continues on developing our next three-year comprehensive plan, Vision 2030: Honor the Past. Design the Future. 

On Tuesday night at CB South, administrators, teachers, parents, students, and community members came together to begin drafting goals related to our four established priority areas: Academic Excellence; Technology and Innovation; Health and Wellness; and Community Engagement. We are carrying these areas forward from our current comprehensive plan.

fter an introductory “See the Good” activity and informational presentation, attendees chose the priority area most meaningful to them and were grouped by these areas. Each group was asked to review three sources: feedback gathered during the Sept. 16 kick-off meeting; the results of an administrative survey on the progress of the current comprehensive plan; and the goals of the current comprehensive plan, which runs from 2023-2026. As a reminder, the PA Department of Education requires districts to develop and submit a comprehensive plan every three years. 

Using the information provided, the groups were then asked to work individually and collectively on developing draft goals for their priority area. Following 30 minutes of conversation, the draft goals were collected for each group, and the groups shared key themes with all attendees. These draft goals will inform the finalized goals for Vision 2030. 

Next, our administrative comprehensive plan team will develop a full draft of the 2026-2029 Comprehensive Plan to present to the full planning committee in January 2026. The draft will then be released for public review in February, with anticipated board approval in March. 

We are excited to be planning a successful future for CB together. We will keep you informed as this process continues.

Last night at CB South, we officially kicked off the process to create our next comprehensive plan, which we are calling Vision 2030: Honor the Past. Design the Future.

Every Pennsylvania school district is required by the state’s Department of Education (PDE) to develop and submit a comprehensive plan every three years. Our current plan runs through 2026. We view this opportunity as much more than compliance. It is a chance to reflect on where we’ve been; identify what we want to accomplish by 2030; and design a shared vision for the future of our schools.

We were happy to welcome nearly 50 administrators, teachers, students, parents, and community members to the first planning session. Thank you to each of these individuals for attending! Our goal was to ensure attendees felt seen, heard, and valued.

The evening started with an introductory presentation by our administrative comprehensive planning team. Attendees then gathered in four separate groups to cycle through four stations that represented the priority areas we are carrying forward from the current comprehensive plan: Academic Excellence; Technology and Innovation; Health and Wellness; and Community Engagement.

Participants engaged in productive and positive conversations across the priority areas. Discussion prompts included: What evidence of academic success should we be able to see by 2030?, What professional development or supports would make the biggest impact on staff and student digital literacy?, What additional supports would most improve student mental health and resilience?, and How can CBSD strengthen connections with students, families, and community partners?

The voices and ideas shared last night will help us shape the plan we are required to submit to PDE in March 2026. Our next session is scheduled for November 11, where we plan to review the feedback recorded last night to begin to develop goals and action steps per priority area. We also plan to meet in January 2026 before posting the draft plan for public review in February 2026.

We will keep the community informed throughout this process as well as share opportunities for input.
