          Good Morning,

                   Today I would like to have some more fun examining the lives of the people of the Middle Ages.

     

    Estimated Time:  30 minutes

     

    Explanation:  Today you will create a political cartoon about the Middle Ages.

     

    Three things to remember...

          1.     Political cartoons use art to express an important opinion/concept.

          2.     Political cartoons present a main point in a quick and entertaining manner.

          3.     Illustrators often use few words, exaggeration and even animals to make a main point.

     

    Task: Please create a political cartoon about the life of a person from the Middle Ages.  You can represent the life of a serf, knight, noble or monarch; or the interaction between them.  Think back to our role play activity.

     

    Activity:  1. Please create your cartoon on a power point slide or paper and submit a picture- (if you do this make sure it is clear..some of the pencil drawn cartoons were impossible to see last week).

                   2. Please also post it to the discussion page and comment on 5 other cartoons!

          Please create a political cartoon about your Distance Learning experience so far.

          You can draw your cartoon and submit a picture of it, or draw it on your computer and submit the file.

          Please share you cartoon on the Canvas discussion board and comment on five other cartoons.

             Today I would like to focus on the geography of Europe.

    Explanation:  Today's activity will ask you to use the map of Europe to answer various questions.  As we have discussed in class, today's global economy requires many citizens to work overseas, in Europe specifically.   

     

     

    Three quick things to know:

     

        1. Use of the map scale.

        2. Use of the compass rose.

        3. Use of a map legend.

     

    Task:

     

    Please use the map from the link I have attached in Canvas 3/18, or any map of Europe you find online, to answer the questions I have posted on today Canvas page.  Then please post the answers to the assignment on Canvas.

                   Today I would like to look into the life of the people in the Middle Ages in more depth.

     

    o Estimated Time:

               30 minutes

     

    o Explanation:

                You will be examining the life of the noble in The Middle Ages.

     

    o Three quick things to know:

     

                1. Remember to look back at the feudalism triangle from previous power points.

                2. Remember that the key concept from feudalism is loyalty.

                3. Remember that the noble had responsibilities to those above (The King/Queen) and below (The knights and serfs).

           I will put the You-Tube link to the video and the questions in the module for 3/17 in Canvas.
