Welcome to Mrs. Corcoran's Fourth Grade Class!
- Tuesday, 10/8-Assembly, Spirit Day
- Wednesday, 10/9-No School
- Friday, 10/11-Electricity Test
*Our Cow-a-bunga Fundraiser is still going on!
Math-Please be sure to sign your child’s Ch. 1 Math Test. They went home on Friday. We will begin Ch. 2 Multiplication and Division this week. Please be sure to spend time reviewing basic multiplication facts. The unit will be much more challenging if they students are not secure in those facts. Feel free to use XtraMath, flash cards, even googling Multiplication games online will provide some great sites.
Reading-We are going to fully immerse ourselves in learning about other cultures through our Heritage Unit. The Unit will commence with a study of each child’s own heritage. If you could begin to discuss the countries of their origin it will help our conversations and research.
Writing-We are hoping to wrap up our Community of Writer’s Unit by publishing our first pattern book. We’re hoping to start Personal Narrative this week. Our grammar skill this week will continue to be the four Types of Sentences.
Science-We will wrap up Electricity this week with our assessment on Friday. The students asked for the study guide last Friday and it will passed out then. This week we will be working on a practical application piece—designing safe and unsafe electrician’s gloves.
Social Skills-This week we will continue to practice mindfulness. We will work on slowing down our bodies and brains through deep breathing and positive self-talk.
Thank you! Christie
