Feature Name and description:

Symbolic Representation:

Connection to Declaration of Independence:

Possible Problem:

A.  The Articles of Confederation had no Chief Executive (king or president).

The picture is of a King, or central authority figure, with a circle and a line through him. This indicates that the new government would not have favored a central power figure.

#3- Made laws without allowing representatives from America to participate.

#22-Took away local law making bodies (legislatures)

Because there was no single leader, tough decisions probably could not be made.  Also, since there was no one in charge, who would make sure that all the states would follow the rules and remain equal?

 Part II. The US Constitution.

The Articles of Confederation lasted only a few years before Americans decided that the new government was too flawed to be sustained. In response to the flaws, the US Constitution was written. Access the document using the Internet or your textbook. Identify and compare each feature of the AOC to its relative in the Constitution.
Add two columns to your chart. In the first new column, describe how the Constitution addresses the issue. Quote from and cite where the answer can be found in the Constitution.
In the second new column, create a new symbolic representation for how the Constitution addresses the issue referred to in the AOC.
