  • First Day Jitters

Posted by KRISTEN MASCIANTONIO on 9/1/2021

We have just finished hearing Julie Danneberg’s First Day Jitters. In the story, Mrs. Sarah Hartwell is very nervous about meeting her new students. She describes her feelings throughout the story by giving examples of how she tried to avoid the first day of school.  After reading, we shared letters that previous students wrote about their feelings about 6th grade.

Now you will complete your first blog of the school year by expressing YOUR feelings about your first day. Please answer the following questions in at least 5 complete sentences using examples when you can.
How did you feel throughout the first day of sixth grade? What are you the most excited about this year?  Are you nervous about anything?  What are you excited about now?  What is one thing you think will make this a great school year?
