    Dear Student,

Welcome to second grade! I look forward to the start of school and hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer vacation. I have lots of learning and fun planned for this year. Let me first tell you a little bit about myself. I have been teaching since 2001. I went to Elizabethtown College for Elementary Education and received my Masters in Special Education at Arcadia University. I have two children. My youngest daughter, Addison, turned twelve in June. Emily, my oldest daughter, is fourteen. My husband is a physical therapist in King of Prussia. My family and I live in Doylestown with our dog named Sophie. We spent the summer riding bikes, going to the pool, and going to the beach. When I am not spending time with my family, I love to read and watch movies. Most importantly, I love teaching. I look forward to meeting you. I can’t wait to learn about your interests and hear how your summer was spent!

I am very excited to be starting a new year at Groveland Elementary. I am sure that this class will be my best yet! You probably have been thinking about the supplies you will need for the upcoming school year. We will be using the ones posted on our class website. If you are unsure of what you need, don’t worry I will show you examples of everything on the first day. Here are some other things you should bring with you on the first day of school.

    1. Lunch- If you don't want to buy one from the school.
    2. Snack- My students usually bring a snack each day for snack time. Please remember to avoid bringing treats that contain any kind of nut since some students are allergic to them.
    3. Dismissal Note- The first day of school is a busy one. Your note will ensure that you get home safely.

Enjoy these last days of summer and get ready for a great year!

              Sincerely,

              Mrs. Schaab
