F.D. Titus Elementary School

Dear 5^th Graders,

I am so excited to be your new  teacher this school year! I cannot wait to begin my 7^th year teaching 5^th grade with you. A little secret about me….5^th grade was my absolute favorite year in elementary school! I have such vivid memories of that year and I still keep in touch with my 5^th grade teacher Mrs. Britschge. I hope we create many amazing memories together! This year will mark my 20^th year teaching at Titus. I previously taught 2^nd grade for 13 years before making the jump up to work with the “big kids”. How lucky I have been, to work in such a special place all these years!

This year, we will challenge ourselves, encourage each other, laugh, smile and enjoy our school year as we learn and grow together as a team. We will spend lots of time in the beginning of the year learning about one another and building our classroom community. I always refer to my classroom as a “family” each year and this year will be no different. I look forward to creating that family feeling with you!

For those of you who don’t know me, I love to spend my summers at my favorite vacation spot, Bethany Beach, Delaware. When I am not teaching, I am an avid reader (there is nothing better than reading on the beach!), Taylor Swift listener, Marvel movie watcher, coffee drinker, Amazon online shopper, baker and overall sports enthusiast (Go Phils!😊). I am happiest when spending time with my friends and family, especially my two nieces Maddie and Lily.

The first day of school will be here before you know it! So, before then, enjoy your summer by sleeping in, heading down the shore, relaxing and spending lots of quality time with your family and friends.  I cannot wait to begin the adventure of 5^th grade together! Let’s Do This!
