Mrs. Fahy's Fearless 5th Graders
HELLO my new 5th graders!!!
HAPPY SUMMER! I am Mrs. Fahy, your new teacher! I have a lot of fun things planned for this school year. Fifth grade is a BIG year for you all! This year you will notice a lot more independence and responsibility. I hope you are ready to dig deep into history and get your hands dirty with science. In 5th grade we do a lot of fun things like our amazing monthly visits to the Bridge’s, field trips, science fair, grade level meetings, games, and much more! Also, our class will be participating in monthly service projects to help our furry and human friends in our community. My number one goal this year, is to keep you safe and have fun learning!
I am working hard on setting up our classroom. Do not be shocked when you walk in and completely relax with our nature inspired room. I want you all to feel like our room is a home away from home, a happy place where you want to be, feel safe, and comfortable. We have a relaxing reading nook, a spacious area for us to work together in groups, and lots of plants I will need help watering!
Now a little background on myself, both personally and professionally. I was born and raised here in Bucks County. I received my B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Anthropology and Archaeology from Kutztown University. I received my M.Ed. from Holy Family University with a specialization in history. I have extensive knowledge in World and American history. I hold both my early and intermediate teaching certificates, (k-8). Besides my love for learning, I am a self-taught artist of 20+ years. My husband Ed and I have an 9th grader (Adam at Holicong), a 6th grader (Benny), and 4th grader (Eddie-both at Buckingham Elementary). Outside of school I enjoy reading, art, music, fishing, gardening, hiking, board games, and watching my sons’ concerts, hockey, and baseball games.
A note to my awesome 5th grade parents: I feel that teacher-family relationships are vital to your kiddos progress and success! I will be sending home bi-weekly email updates and photos, keeping you privy to our classroom happenings. Please feel free to also keep me in the loop on any changes at home as well. As a parent, I am all about the old verbiage, “It takes a village…” I am excited to work with you and be part of this chapter of your sweet child’s journey. I will treat your child as another one of mine. If you need to contact me your best bet would be via email. I look forward to meeting everyone at Back to School Night on September 12th! I cannot wait for an exceptional year with my fearless fifth graders!
Your SUPER EXCITED 5th grade teacher,
Mrs. Fahy
