• Jazz Band

  • Jazz Band is an audition-based, extra-curricular ensemble that meets once a week-- enrollment is open to 7th, 8th, and 9th Graders.  This ensemble performs a variety of styles, including swing, blues, funk, fusion, latin, rock and hip hop, among others.  Students develop individual and ensemble musicianship skills through a lens of jazz music theory and repertoire; improvision and creativity play an integral role of participation and performance.  Jazz Band performs at a plethora of CBSD and out-of-district events-- consistent attendance at these events is vital for membership.

Auditions typically occur in September and rehearsals begin in October.
