Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Hello and welcome to fifth grade!  I am Mrs. Bannon, and I will be your teacher for this upcoming school year!  I am so very excited, as I have taught fifth grade before, and it was by far one of my favorites!  As most of you know, I have been at Groveland since the original opening in 2000!  To give you some background on me, I have been with CB since 1998 and have taught first, second, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades.  I am a graduate of Penn State University, I received my master’s degree from Wilkes University in Curriculum and Instruction, and I received my certificate of supervision from Cabrini College.

I have three children: Maddie (a sophomore at the University of Tampa), Christopher (a senior at CB West) and Connor (a junior at CB West).  All three of my children have also gone through Groveland and Tohickon!  We are clearly a family of Great Grizzlies!  Christopher plays football for West and Connor plays baseball for West.

This year for fifth grade will be VERY EXCITING!  I cannot wait to get to work!    To help you get ready for the upcoming school year, I would suggest bringing the following:

    • A backpack
    • A 3-ring binder or an accordion folder to organize your papers (we switch classes)
    • Pencil case
    • Smock for art class
    • A book for silent reading (must be kept in your desk daily)
    • Daily snack
    • Water bottle

Enjoy the final weeks of your summer vacation!  I know I will as I have a few baseball tournaments for Connor and then in August, I will be visiting different colleges for both Christopher and Connor.  Maddie will be driving down to Tampa with a friend for her year in college!  Rest up, have fun, and be safe!

I am looking forward to having a super, fantastic year with you in sixth grade!  If you have any questions, please reach out via email:  abannon@cbsd.org.
