• Welcome to Kindergarten!

    Dear Kindergartner~

Welcome to Jamison!  I hope you are excited about starting kindergarten in Room 120!  I look forward to meeting and learning all about you.  At the beginning of the year we will spend a lot of time getting to know each other so we can make many new friends.  I also can’t wait to hear about what you did this summer.  I’m sure you have been very busy!

I certainly have been busy this summer.  My two daughters, Caroline (16) and Julia (14), seem to always be on the move!

I am so excited about being your teacher this year!  I have already picked out interesting books and created fun projects to work on in September.  Once we get settled in, we will be writing, reading, counting, graphing, sorting, creating, exploring, and celebrating!  We will also be learning how to work with others, share, and make friends.  Kindergarten is busy and a lot of fun!

To help get us started off to a great year in kindergarten, please bring in the following items to our orientation or during the first week of school:

    • 1 large traditional backpack (daily)- side mesh pocket(s) for water bottle
    • Your bus tag (you will receive this at Kindergarten Orientation)
    • A healthy snack (daily) – peanut, tree nut safe
    • 1 pack of 16 Crayola crayons (not the jumbo crayons)
    • 1 White 3-ring binder (1”) with front vinyl view
    • 2 jumbo Elmer’s glue sticks
    • 2 Low Odor Dry Erase Markers (blue, black or green preferred)
    • Headphones in a Ziploc-type bag (no ear buds, please)
    • Students A-L (last name): box of tissues
    • Students M-Z (last name): Clorox Wipes

I can’t wait to meet you either at the orientation (August 28th) or on the first day of school (September 5th)!  Enjoy the rest of your summer!

    Mrs. Walsh
