About Mrs. Carfrey
My name is Laura Carfrey. Growing up in Bucks County, I attended La Salle University where I obtained my bachelor's degree in both elementary/special education degrees. My favorite college memories include working as a tour guide for La Salle, and traveling to Spain for a study abroad class. After attending La Salle University, I accepted my first teaching job in the Lawrenceville Township School District at Ben Franklin Elementary in New Jersey where I taught in a resource room setting. My teaching journey continued as I began teaching second grade for the next three years at Ben Franklin Elementary. During this time, I was married and moved to the Doylestown area. That's when I made the move to teach in Central Bucks School District which was closer to home. I taught three years at Gayman Elementary for first grade. In addition, I received my Master's Degree as a reading specialist. These skills have enhanced my skill set as a teacher. Meanwhile, I had my first son so I decided to take some time off of teaching. Soon after, I had my second son and a daughter. My family resides in Chalfont, and my three children attend Pine Run Elementary. My family and I love to be outdoors, play sports, and stay active. During the summers, we visit Sea Isle City. My boys play baseball and basketball, while my daughter likes soccer. In my free time, I love to read and bike ride. My true passion is teaching. I have taught first grade, second grade, and sixth grade for a total of eleven years. This will be my fourth year teaching sixth grade. I love watching students grow and learn. I'm honored to be your teacher this coming year at Jamison.
