     TBD if permissible

    Graduation Parade

Planned with input from our senior class councils, the graduation parade will provide an opportunity for us to safely come together and applaud these amazing students as their journey with us comes to an end.

Working in partnership with Central Bucks Regional Police, Central Bucks High School West graduates are invited to participate in a graduation parade June 12, beginning at 12 p.m. and ending at 3 p.m.  The parade will culminate on West Court Street, where graduates will be able to place their yard sign in front of the school if they choose to do so.

Students with last names A-K can enter their vehicle in the Junior parking lot off MacFarlane Lane between 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.   Students with last names L-Z can enter their vehicle in the Junior parking lot between 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.

This will be a “rolling parade” beginning at 12 p.m. and ending at 3 p.m. with police directing vehicles around the high school.   Students and families must always remain in their vehicles.  Only students will be permitted to get out of a vehicle to place their yard sign in front of the school.

The route of the Parade is as follows:

To access the Junior parking lot, vehicles must travel west on State Street.  This would entail coming from town heading toward Lenape Middle School.  Vehicles will then be directed to take a left on Lafayette Street and a right on MacFarlane Lane.  Another acceptable route to access the Junior parking lot is to travel north on Lafayette Street and make a left on MacFarlane Lane.

Vehicles will be directed from the Junior parking lot down MacFarlane Lane.  They will take a right on Memorial Drive and then another right on State Street. The Parade will continue up to West Street where vehicles will turn right.  The Parade will then conclude with a right on West Court Street.  It is at this time, if students want, they can exit the vehicle and place their yard sign in front of the school.   Vehicles will then be directed to Lower State Road where families can then return home.

Please note: Family members are not permitted to sit or stand along the parade route. Only cars will be permitted to travel along the designated streets of the parade. Thank you for your cooperation.

The following is communication from Dr. Kopicki:

The key components of our commencement plans include*:

    • A complete, edited commencement event will be broadcast at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 for all three schools individually.
    • Footage of each student crossing the stage in cap and gown will be filmed while family members are present at a designated date and time to be communicated by the building principal. Each individual student’s name will be read by the building principal or designee at that time.
      • A traditional “class celebration” production featuring images and footage is being prepared for each school.
      • Student musical performances and speeches will be filmed for presentation during the broadcast.
    • The entire Central Bucks community will be invited to “make some noise” at the conclusion of the ceremony broadcast, clapping hands, banging pots and pans, and more!

    Other planned celebrations include:

    • Distribution of individual lawn signs, unique to each school and bearing each graduate’s name.
    • A “parade” motorcade event organized by each school, which will take place on June 12. Graduates and their families may drive along a pre-set route on campus.
    • An in-person celebration (planned for later this summer with tentative dates scheduled on July 17, 2020 and August 14, 2020) based on the direction from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on stay at home order protocols. These in-person events will be planned with input from student leadership.

*This communication represents confirmed celebration activities as of May 12, 2020. Any additional activities developed will be added to this list and communicated accordingly.
