3rd Grade Phonics (JT, SS, CCG, RR)


  • Overview: You will review sound cards, word of the day and trick words.  You will learn about the vowel-consonant-e combination through a video, practice with kahoot and complete a word search and recording on Seesaw.  

    Estimated Time: Approx. 30 minutes

    Explanation of Activity/Assignment: Students will review previously taught concepts and sounds, then will learn about the vowel-consonant-e combination through a video, practice with kahoot and complete a word search and audio recording on Seesaw. 

    Quick Things to Know: 

    - Students were emailed individually QR Codes for Seesaw, please email byoung@cbsd.org if you have any difficulty logging on.  

    Tasks: 

    1.) Review sound cards with the following video

     2.) Review Word of the Day and Trick Words with Miss Young! (Next week we are going to add to the WOD and Trick Words!)

    Overview: You will review the abc's and all of the sounds, then practice writing them on Seesaw.  After, I will review the days of the week and the months of the year with a video.  You will complete an activity on Seesaw after watching the video. 

    Estimated Time: .5 Hour

    Explanation of Activity/Assignment: Students will review letters and sounds through a video, then practice writing them in Seesaw.  After, students will watch a video reviewing the days of the week and months of the year.  Students will complete an activity on Seesaw after watching the video. 

    Quick Things to Know: 

    Students should be logged into the Seesaw class (Miss Young's 4th Grade English)

4th Grade Reading (DQ, EAB, AGS, AC, JF, JRG, HS)

    Overview: You will learn new vocabulary with Miss Young through a video, complete a worksheet, then watch Mrs. Edwards read, "Stephanies Ponytail" in a read aloud and complete questions about the story.  You can complete this on seesaw or on the website and email it to byoung@cbsd.org.  

    Estimated Time: Approx. 1 hour

    Explanation of Activity/Assignment: Students will learn new vocabulary from "Stephanie's Ponytail" through a video with Miss Young.  Then, Mrs. Edwards will read, "Stephanies Ponytail" through a read aloud video.  After, students will complete a worksheet on the story's questions.    

    Quick Things to Know: 

    - Students should have their login information for Seesaw (Miss Young's 4th Grade Reading Class) Please email Miss Young if you have any difficulties at byoung@cbsd.org 

    Tasks: 

    1.) Learn new vocabulary with Miss Young below!

4th Grade Fluency and FRY (EAB, DQ, JF, JRG, AC, AGS, HS)

  • Overview: You will listen to the audio and read aloud a fluency passage individually sent through Seesaw to each student. After, you will watch the new FRY video below and write each word three times through Seesaw. 

    Estimated Time: .5 Hour

    Explanation of Activity/Assignment: Students will listen to their individual video and read aloud a fluency passage that was sent through Seesaw. After, students will write the FRY words three times each using Seesaw.  (Students should say the words as they write them) 

    Quick Things to Know: 

    This is through the Seesaw 4th Grade Reading Class 

    Tasks: 

    1.) Watch the video of your fluency passage being read 

     

    2.) Read the passage aloud.  

     

    3.) Watch the FRY Words for the Week through this video
