  • Thursday, June 11th, 2020:

    Good morning!

Today is High Point Day! Originally, we had a field trip planned earlier this week to go to High Point, a gym facility in Chalfont. It’s a day to celebrate our sixth graders moving to middle school by having fun activities and using team building strategies. Given our current situation, we still want to celebrate your move to middle school by having High Point Day at home!

Below is a list of activities that you can take part in at home with your siblings or practice social distancing with your neighborhood friends. The goal of today is to have fun. We know you may not have certain materials in order to try each activity but get outside and try to accomplish what you are able to!

    Basketball:

If you have access to a basketball and net, play a game of basketball! If you have a basketball, but no net, try to find something you can use as a net instead. You can also play HORSE. HORSE is when one player goes first and decides a place on the court to take their shot. If the person makes it, the person (people) after has to make the same shot, from the same place on the court. If they miss, they get a letter H. This continues until someone gets HORSE. The winner is the person with the least number of letters.

    Soccer:

If you have access to a soccer ball, play a game of soccer! You can use materials from around the house or garage/shed to make your “goal posts”. Make sure to play outside!

    Laser Tag:

Instead of laser tag, you can play tag! Grab your siblings or a few neighborhood friends and play a game of tag. Remember to practice socially distancing when playing tag. Maybe come up with another way to ‘tag’ each other.

    Walk/Jog:

Move those legs! Enjoy the weather and go for a walk or jog with a friend or family member. You can do this in your neighborhood or a local park. Remember to practice social distancing.

    Obstacle Course:

Time to get creative! Make an obstacle course in your driveway by using chalk, cones, or other materials. Then, try to ride your bike through the course or walk through the course. For example, maybe at one point in the course you can only hop on one leg or another point you have to stop then do twenty jumping jacks. Have fun!

Remember, the goal of today is to get outside and have fun! Feel free to share pictures with us! Then, tonight at 7:00pm, you will receive an email with our Sixth Grade Promotion video. Today is all about celebrating you and your amazing accomplishments!

    Have fun!
