Good Evening! Welcome to Week 3 of Distant Learning! This week will be our last week of curriculum review. Next week we will be teaching new concepts and skills! An email from Dr. Kolpicki was sent today outlining how Phase 2 of Distant Learning will be implemented. This week I will be meeting and planning virtually with lots of curriculum supervisors, my third grade teaching team, and our principals in anticipation to next week’s new learning. To be honest, I’m excited but also a little nervous! This is so new for all of us. Also, I’m home alone all day (my husband is still working most days) with my son, so managing his schedule and my teaching schedule will be tricky, but I promise to make it work. I appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we transition into this next phase of learning.
Attached are the lessons for this week Monday- Thursday. The math worksheets will be on Seesaw as they have been in the past. This week we are also starting a Virtual Spirit Week! Tomorrow is Super Hero Day! We are hoping the kids will enjoy dressing up and posting pictures of their costumes each day on the Seesaw Activity (see below) in honor of the different people who are still working to help keep us safe! I will share all the pictures with the whole class so that the kids can comment on each other’s pictures using good Digital Citizenship. Rhys and I will also be dressing up (and maybe even the dogs, too!).
Lastly, tomorrow (Monday) Report Cards will go live on the Parent Portal around 1:00 pm. As you know, parent teacher conferences are on the district calendar for next week. Obviously, we are not able to meet face to face. However, I would like to offer you the opportunity for a phone conference if you would like to check in or have questions about your child’s progress after reviewing the report card. Please reply to this email if you would like to confer and I will be in touch with information to schedule. I understand that schedules are busy and you may not be available. If it is easier, please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
Hoping everyone is safe and healthy!
