Overview: Much like the board game Candyland, you advance through the trail by selecting cards. Each card suit represents a different exercise and the value represents the repetitions. The player who gets to the end of the game board wins.

Explanation of Activity:
Using sidewalk chalk, create a game board similar to the attached picture. Make sure to create a sequence using hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs in every box. Next decide what exercise will be represented by each suit. In my example I used Jumping Jacks, Push-ups, Squats and Plank Punches. Feel free to choose any exercises you want!
- players take turns drawing a card. Cards with a number value allow you to advance forward to the nearest spot represented by the suit of the card you draw. once at your new spot, perform the exercise the number of times of your card value. Now it is the next player's turn.
- If you draw a face card you do not perform an exercise but you must move backwards to the nearest spot represented by the suit of the card you selected.
- If you draw an Ace, you move backwards to the nearest spot represented by the suit of the card you selected AND perform 15 repetitions of the exercise.
Modification - If you don't have a deck of playing cards, modify the game to use Uno cards, or actual Candyland cards!
Things to know:
You can use an actual game board, or draw one on a piece of paper and play indoors if it is raining and/or you do not have sidewalk chalk!
