    Overview: Grammar Review 

    Estimated Time: 30 minutes 

    Explanation of Activity/Assignment: 

    I can identify four types of sentences and its parts. 

    I can craft all four sentence types using proper grammar and punctuation.

    I can identify prepositional phrases and its objects.  

    Quick Things to Know:

    Review PowerPoint slides by yourself to refresh your memory on grammar concepts of subject/predicate, sentence types, and prepositional phrases

    Tasks:

    • Continue to work on your “Socially Distanced Connections” writing/speaking task (from Monday); don’t forget to complete the questionnaire, too!
    • Review slides 1-22 on our "Grammar Review" PowerPoint 
    • Complete the "Grammar Review” found on Canvas or OneNote
    • Check your answers using the teacher’s key

    Overview: Book Club 

    Estimated Time: 30 minutes

    Explanation of Activity/Assignment:

    I can engage in sustained silent reading. 

    I can record and be accountable for my daily reading.

    I can monitor my comprehension of the story as I read.

    I can identify main characters, inciting incident, and key conflicts.

    Quick Things to Know:

    Materials --> Self-Selected Book. 

    Use a bookmark in your novel to keep your place.

    Find a place where you can concentrate (one free of distraction). 

    Tasks:

    • Read your Self-Selected Book Club novel for 30 minutes. Don't take your cell phone or laptop with you.  Allow yourself to become immersed in the world of the characters; find your reading stride.   
    • If you like to use post-it notes to record a few (not 20 or 30 but 2 or 3) observations, feel free to do so.  However, this reading should be enjoyable and stress free. 
    • Fill in your new reading log found on OneNote in your Book Club folder titled "Reading Log"
    • Complete the Exit Ticket found on Canvas. 
      • Where do you read at home?
