    Day 7

     

    Today is National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day! This day has a special place in my heart.  We have a fabulous student at Gayman Elementary, who was going to speak today, during morning announcements to teach us all about this day.  He is a remarkable young man who many are lucky enough to call him a friend.  He amazes me everyday with his resilience and perseverance.  I am blessed to know him.   Since school isn't in session, I will celebrate here- on my website. Please wear green today to support Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day (Go to Twitter to show off your colors- #GoGaymanMustangs). Green represents new growth and inspires a renewed life. Please watch this video to celebrate National CP Day!  There is so much to learn and understand.  Each day is a blessing, each child is a gift. 

     

    If you are unable to do anything online, please remember that you can do anything on the choice menu sheet, that I sent at the beginning of distance learning!  Feel free to do any of those activities instead of the suggested lessons below.  :)

    1. Read, listen (text to speech) or do both (if you come across a word that's tough) to the article, Cats or Dogs

    2. Watch the short video on the history of pets

    Estimated Time for Activities: Approximately 30 minutes

    Things to know:

    1. If you do not have the supplied worksheets or access to any of the worksheets, it is fine to create your own based off the supplied worksheets.

    2. More specific directions are provided on each sheet/activity that goes along with these lessons. I will send these sheets through email.

    Activity 1:

    Overview: You will use a calendar to review the weeks, days, and months of the year. You will work on writing the date.

    Explanation: Review various calendar skills and concepts

    Tasks:

    1. Use a calendar to write the days of the week. Write about your favorite day of the week.

    2. Use a calendar to write the months of the year. Write about your favorite month of the year.

     

    Extra: Only do this activity if you want more practice.

    3. Use a calendar to answer various questions about a particular month.
