    Monday March 30, 2020

            Overview -

    • Review of systems of equations (Day 4)

        Estimated Time - 30 minutes

        Explanation -

    • You will use IXL to review.
    • Remember you are trying to use different algebraic methods to find where two lines intersect.
    • Parallel lines have no solution:
      • They have the same slope but have different y-intercepts.
    • If two lines are the same, the solution is infinitely many solutions, NOT ALL REAL NUMBERS.

        Things to know -

    • THIS IS NOT MENTAL MATH.  You will need a notebook, pencil, and calculator to complete these assignments.
    • IXL website:  https://www.ixl.com/signin/cbsd
    • Username and password
    • In IXL you can click above any problem using the "Learn with an Example" to get help on that type of problem.

        Tasks -

    1. Review #1 – Solving systems using substitution (more challenging)

    1. Review #2 -  Solving systems using elimination

    https://www.ixl.com/math/grade-8/solve-a-system-of-equations-using-elimination

    1. Remember:  strive to earn a Smart Score of an 80 before moving on to the next task ... a 90 is ideal!
