    Morning Exercise: Count by 10s (a class favorite) Also linked in Seesaw.

    MATH

    Overview: Counting and Writing Numbers to 20.

    Estimated Time: Approximately 15 minutes

    Things to know:

    1. Sit with mom, dad, grandparent or guardian, or your brother or sister to practice the activities for the day.
    2. If you are unable to print the worksheets to go along with this activity. Use household items for your child to count like beans, noodles, stuffed animals, etc.
    3. If you do not have the supplied worksheets or access to any of the worksheets, it is fine to create your own based off the supplied worksheets.
    4. More specific directions are provided on each sheet/activity that goes along with these lessons. I will send these sheets through email.

    Explanation: You will count out loud to 20 forward and backward, count pictures and write numbers to 20.

    Tasks:

    1. Count to 20 forward and backward.
    2. Count. Write each number.
    3. Count on from 10. Write each number.

    How is this assignment turned in to the teacher: Put completed pages in grab bag or upload a photo onto Seesaw.

     

    READING

    Overview: Taking a guided picture walk of a story and circling known words in a story.

    Activity 1:

    Estimated Time: Approximately 10 minutes

    Explanation of Activity/ Assignment: You will take a guided picture walk through the story of Happy’s Hat on Seesaw.

    Quick things to know:

    1. Seesaw activity where I am talking through all directions.
    2. If you cannot access Seesaw, have your child choose a book from their library or grab bag and pretend to be a teacher doing the picture walk in front of their brother/sister or any fluffy friend.

    Tasks:

    1. Login to Seesaw and select the activity for Happy’s Hat ACTIVITY 1. Follow all directions throughout activity.
    2. There is a page at the end to draw a picture or record your voice to answer my question…Is anyone happy now?

    Activity 2:

    Estimated Time: Approximately 10/15 minutes

    Explanation of Activity/ Assignment: You will read through a story and use the pen tool to circle words you can read.

    Quick things to know:

    1. Seesaw activity where I am talking through all directions.
    2. If you cannot access Seesaw, have your child choose a book from their library or grab bag and point to and read any word wall words they can find.

    Tasks:

    1. Login to Seesaw and select the activity for Happy’s Hat ACTIVITY 2. Follow all directions throughout activity.
    2. There is a page at the end to rainbow write a few of the word wall words.

    How this activity is turned into teacher: On the last page, Click on the green check at the top right corner of the page and I will be able to review the work.

    Optional extension or Alternate activity: Practice reading “Fridge Word Wall” page. Try reading all words in one column or row. Choose one of the hard words for you and rainbow write it on plain paper.

    WRITING

    Overview: Complete writing activity in mini writer’s notebook.

    Estimated Time: 15 minutes

    Explanation of Activity/ Assignment: Students can write in their mini writer’s notebook about an idea of their choice.

    Quick things to know:

    1. Mini writer’s notebooks are in the grab bag. They are pages stapled together to look like a journal.
    2. Writing should be done in pencil with detailed, colored pictures.
    3. Students should write in complete sentences, using a capital letter for beginning of sentence and names, and period at the end.

    Tasks: Start writing about a topic of your choice. Need an idea? Have you learned to do something new at home? Have you helped with any chores? Check Seesaw for my writing for today.

    How this will be turned in: Keep writer’s notebook in grab bag and bring back to school when we reopen. Can also take a picture of today’s writing and post to Seesaw.

     

    CONTENT (SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE)

    Overview: The Five Senses

    Estimated Time: 10-20 minutes (you select activities to lengthen or shorten the time)

    Explanation of Activity/ Assignment: Using BookFlix online, listen to a story about animals using their senses OR complete 5 Senses recording sheet.

    Quick things to know:

    1. The BookFlix link below will take you to 2 books, one fiction and one non-fiction. Both can be read to your child online. There are also activities that can be completed on the sidebar of the web page. These are optional, but there if you want extra activities for you child.
    2. In my email, I’ve attached a 5 senses paper that can be completed without needing to read any of the books if you’d like this to be just a pencil and paper task.
