• Math 8/9 (Prealgebra)

    Overview: Students will continue practicing application of the Pythagorean Theorem.

    Time: 30 minutes

    Explanation: Students will complete the problems in the notes packet received Thursday, 3/12. They will complete the 5.6 Skills Practice worksheet (you already have this, from Thursday 3/12), found on Canvas. Check answers with key, also on Canvas.

    Things to Know:

    • Pythagorean Theorem is
    • Remember to determine which side of the triangle is c first! (This is the longest side, the hypotenuse, across from the right angle)

    • Finish problems in notes. Refer to power point as needed – slides #28 – 33.
    • Complete 5.6 Skills Practice worksheet (you already have this, or it’s on Canvas)

    Overview: Students will continue activities related to our novel The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, complete independent reading and journals, as well as continue iReady online personalized instruction.

    Time: 60 minutes

    Explanation: Students will complete daily journal entry, continue working on vocabulary, and do independent reading.

    Things to Know:

    • Everything can be found on Canvas, including PDF version of the novel
    • Email me at mcastor@cbsd.org with questions

    Tasks:

    • Download weekly journal template. Complete daily journal entry and save. You will write your journal entry on this template every day and submit it via Canvas at the end of the week.
    • Complete 25 minutes of independent reading.
    • Finish Ch 11-15 Vocabulary (due tomorrow)
