    March 23rd: Day 4

    Overview:  Reading to Practice

    Estimated Time:  10-15 minutes

    Explanation of Activity:  Choose the same article from Day 3 to reread from folder (Lily and Missing Keys, Hippo and Frog, How Tadpoles Grow)

    Quick Things to Know:  Use the comprehensions sheets (found in folder) to complete the task. 

    Tasks:

    1.  Choose the same article as Day 3 ( Lily and Missing Keys, Hippo and Frog, How Tadpoles Grow).
    2.  Reread the article.
    3.  Complete the comprehension pages after rereading the article. 

     

    March 24th:  Day 5

    Overview:  Reading to Practice

    Estimated Time:  10-15 minutes

    Explanation of Activity:  Read two poems (Spring Messages and Abe Lincoln Grows Up) from your blue folder.

    Quick Things to Know:  Find a quiet place to read the two poems. 

    Tasks:

    1. Read the two poems (Spring Messages and Abe Lincold Grows Up)
    2. Draw a picture for each poem.
    3. Decide which poem is your favorite of the two.  Write a sentence or two about what the poem is mainly about. 

     

     March 25th:  Day 6

    Overview:  Reading to Practice

    Estimated Time:  10-15 minutes

    Explanation of Activity:  Practice reading and writing sight words. 

    Quick Things to Know:  Find a quiet place to practice. 

    Tasks:

    1.  Practice reading and then writing the following words:  house, idea, machine, sign, against, found, stood, wild, become, even, thought, front, easy, follow, knew, usual. 
    2. Pick five of the trickiest words and write a sentence for each word.
    3. Read for enjoyment. 

     

    March 26th:  Day 7

    Overview:  Reading to Practice

    Estimated Time:  10-15 minutes

    Explanation of Activity:  Reread two of your favorite stories from My Sidewalks: Work and Play Book (blue folder)

    Quick Things to Know:  Find a quiet place to read the two stories.

    Tasks:

    1. Reread two of your favorite stories from My Sidewalks: Work and Play Book (blue folder)
    2. Decide which is your favorite story.  Complete the I Love this Book!  (from blue folder)  banner.  
    3. Color and cut out your banner.  I can't wait to find out your favorite story.  

     

    March 27th:  Friday FUNDAY!
